Rost Architects Oceanfront Home on Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach

In April 2022, Rost Architects completed design and construction documents for an oceanfront home on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. It has been such a pleasure working with the owners on this project. This home is a family beach house that has been in their family for generations.

The Architectural and Interior design teams at Rost worked closely with the owners to customize it to their families needs. Custom casework and cabinets were designed for specific storage requirements. A large master suite upstairs with a large three panel glass pocket door opens up to a spacious master deck. A second level exterior jacuzzi backed up to a privacy screen is planned for the second level deck.

The exterior architecture of the home will be comprised of champagne metal fascia, composite wood siding and soffits, stone cladding and acrylic plaster finishes. It was important to the owners that the exterior materials be low maintenance and robust enough to hold up to the salty ocean air.

The overall design of the home is intended to produce a calming and tranquil environment for family and friends to retreat to after a busy week. The interior and exterior materials are simple, clean and subtle.

We recently submitted the plans to the city of Newport Beach for plan check. Pending plan check timelines at the city, we are hoping to break ground on the project by fall of 2022. Below are the design renders of the home. We hope you enjoy!
